Company History
1992 - 2005
Surplus Equipment Company, Inc. was founded in July of 1992 by Patti L. Pettibone. The company quickly outgrew it’s first location on the corner of 39th & Blaine and moved into the old Carter Carburetor building on Spring. In 1994, with the company well established, Paul Pettibone joined his wife in the family business. A year later Surplus Equipment Company, Inc. moved to it’s present location at 4216W. Dr. Martin Luther
King.
In 1999, when Surplus Equipment Company, Inc. began fabricating new "Teardrop" style pallet racks, the word quickly spread among material handling dealers in St. Louis. Now their former competitors are some of their best customers. Although the company still sells used pallet racks, the majority of their sales is new. "When we are able to offer a new product for basically the same price as used, most people will choose the new," Pettibone explains, "With a lead time of 7-10 working days, there really is no reason not to buy new".
In addition to pallet racks, Surplus Equipment Company, Inc. also sells dock plates, shelving, lockers, conveyors and bulk storage racks. You can visit their online catalog
through their website at www.surplusequipment-stl.com.

Thank You For 13 Great
Years!
The last thirteen years have gone by in a
flash. I'd like to thank our loyal customers and
friends who have stuck with us through the years. Your
continued support is greatly appreciated.
After all these years, I am still thrilled
with each and every order that we receive. Too many
companies act like they are doing you a favor by taking your
order. I don't appreciate it when it happens to me; I won't
do it to you.
I owe a special thank you to Joe B. who
helped me get my start. Joe saw a potential in me that I
didn't even know I had. His encouragement and advise during
the early years kept me focused and on the right track.
Thanks Joe, I love ya!
